Applications

Ferrosilicon aluminum alloy is a strong deoxidizer and a reducing agent for the production of other metals and alloys. It is also used in thermite welding, manufacturing exothermic agents and explosives, etc. The use of ferrosilicon aluminum alloy in steelmaking is more efficient than using pure aluminum alone as a deoxidizer. The specific gravity of ferrosilicon aluminum alloy is 3.5-4.2g/cm3, which is larger than that of pure aluminum 2.7g/cm3. It is easier to enter the molten steel and cause internal burning.
