Product Advantages

Zirconium is a highly reactive element that forms stable compounds with oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur, and carbon. It can be used as a deoxidizer, modifying non-metallic inclusions and fixing uncombined nitrogen, especially in boron steels.

Zirconium can refine the austenite grains of steel; it can be sulfurized to synthesize zirconium sulfide to prevent the hot brittleness of steel; zirconium can also reduce the strain aging phenomenon of steel and improve the low-temperature toughness of steel. Zirconium functions similarly to titanium in cast iron. It can form zirconium carbide with the carbon in the molten iron and promote the formation of graphite during cooling.

Manufacture And Use

Ferrosilicon should be handled and stored with care to avoid any contamination or damage. Should be stored in a dry, cool, well-ventilated area away from incompatible materials.
